Gaming fans are counting down to the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. The brand new Assassin’s Creed game has an October 5 release date and a midnight BST launch time for fans living in the UK. If you’ve pre-ordered on PC from the Ubisoft Connect store, then pre-loading is available at the time of writing. The game weighs in at around 36GB, so it’s worth downloading early to ensure you can start playing at launch. Unlike recent Assassin’s Creed games, the latest entry is focused more on stealth, parkour and assassinations. It will feature a much more focused setting and narrative.
Indeed, Mirage is seen as a return to the roots of the Assassin’s Creed series, before the games began to adopt RPG elements.
It all takes place in ninth-century Baghdad, where lead character Basim must eliminate targets in a bid to become a master assassin.
The Baghdad setting features four unique districts that are densely packed with crowds and potential targets. According to Ubisoft, the crowds will react to Basim’s every move.

Ubisoft explains more: “Experience the story of Basim, a cunning street thief seeking answers and justice as he navigates the bustling streets of ninth-century Baghdad.
“Through a mysterious, ancient organisation known as the Hidden Ones, he will become a deadly Master Assassin and change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.”
It’s worth pointing out that pre-order customers will receive a special bonus mission for purchasing the game ahead of launch.
The Forty Thieves bonus quest sees Basim eliminate the thieves from the story of Ali Baba, after meeting with the daughter of the aforementioned protagonist.
