At Caviar Kaspia, Vogue100 and Joopiter Celebrated Lorraine Schwartz: A Journey Through Gems

Let the glitz and glamour roll out; it’s Oscars week in Los Angeles! Kicking off the eagerly anticipated celebrations, Vogue100 and Joopiter gathered friends in film and fashion folk to honor American jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz’s exclusive exhibition, A Journey Through Gems.

Founded by Pharrell Williams, Joopiter is a global digital-first auction house, and this debut high jewelry partnership with Schwartz set the bar high. The curation features an exquisite selection of the world’s rarest stones and one-of-a-kind creations commissioned throughout Schwartz’s career. Over the past decades, the jewels have adorned the most famous faces and necks in the world, from Elizabeth Taylor to Kim Kardashian. Such clientele has cemented Schwartz’s place in fashion history.

“I was lucky enough to meet Pharrell over 20 years ago, and we’ve built an incredible friendship through a mutual appreciation for the most exquisite and unique gems in the world,” Schwartz said. “To me, A Journey Through Gems is not only a curation of the finest bespoke high jewelry available now but also the story of our journey and relationship as told through gems. I am excited to partner with Joopiter for this once-in-a-lifetime sale, bringing access to these gems and their provenance to a global audience.”

Guests across industries, including musical matriarch Tina Knowles, supermodel Heidi Klum with her beau Milan Blagojevic, stylists Marni Senofonte and Brad Goreski, actress Ellen Pompeo and her husband Chris Ivery, were all welcomed to Caviar Kaspia’s west coast outpost with glasses of bubbly. The open-air restaurant was dressed to the nines in gorgeous florals by none other than Jeff Leatham. For one night only, the private dining room adorned with bougainvillea flowers was transformed into a private high jewelry atelier for guests to discover the precious archival pieces.

Of course, the signature Caviar Kaspia baked potato was an instant crowd-pleaser, as was the smoked salmon blinis topped with crème fraîche. Following the decadent dinner, longtime friend and muse Klum got the party started as the JusSkye turned up the tunes. Soon everyone joined her on the dance floor. Needless to say, Schwartz knows how to host a fabulous party.
