The price of the new generation electric scooter will vary across markets based on state duties but is priced at Rs 1,55,657 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) in its home state. The electric scooter is the least expensive in Ahmedabad, where it costs Rs 1,37,612 (ex-showroom).
Ather 450X Gen 3 key features
In terms of new features, the Ather 450X Gen 3 offers an upgraded 3.7kWh battery, which is 25% larger than its previous generation counterparts. This leads to a maximum riding range of 146km as per ARAI certification, and 105km based on Ather’s own data. The scooter comes with five ride modes now – Warp, Sport, Ride, SmartEco, and Eco. The maximum power output is unsurprisingly in the Warp mode, where it produces 8.7hp of power output.
Other key offerings of the scooter include an all-aluminium frame, wider profile rear tyres for 22% additional grip over previous generations, and a new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System that has been integrated into the smart display dashboard of the scooter. While the display remains 7 inches in size, it gets additional RAM (now up to 2GB).
In a statement, Ather said that the higher RAM would allow the system to work smoother in higher temperatures, which is typical of Indian riding conditions. It also added that the new dashboard would “greatly enhance the performance of memory-intensive applications and will unlock several features for the future like voice commands, multi-language support, heavier graphics and deeper diagnostics.”
The scooter also features a newly designed rearview mirror that is integrated into the mainframe, which the company claims will offer 2x better visibility. It also features a new stand design.
