A new Atomic Heart update introduces a highly requested FOV slider to the Steam FPS game, along with disabling mouse acceleration on PC. Atomic Heart patch 1.3.4 also fixes a bug causing achievement progress to be lost, improves the Nora storage menus on ultrawide monitors, and resolves a number of other minor issues. The devs also note that official Atomic Heart Steam Deck compatibility is in the works.
The prior lack of Atomic Heart FOV settings caused many players to avoid or stop playing the shooter, as the key accessibility tool is used by many to alleviate potential motion sickness. Thankfully, you’ll now be able to change FOV in Atomic Heart, so if you’ve been holding off for that reason then now is the time to jump back in.
The Atomic Heart 1.3.4 patch notes also include the disabling of mouse acceleration. This feature is generally not preferred by PC players while playing games, as it causes inconsistent movement speeds while aiming with a mouse. If you’re playing on a widescreen monitor at 16:10 or ultrawide 21:9 settings, you’ll be pleased to know that the NORA storage UI has been improved on those resolutions when interacting with the frisky fridge.

Developer Mundfish has come under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks after it was alleged that the Russian government stands to gain financially from the release of Atomic Heart. This is due to the fact that investors involved in the financing of Mundfish include GEM Capital, an investment fund whose founder has ties to Gazprom and VTB Bank, both of which are majority-owned by the Russian state.
Mundfish is also partnering with VK (formerly Mail.RU) for the Russian release of Atomic Heart, evading sanctions on Steam – VK is also majority-owned by the Russian state through Gazprombank, and Mundfish’s CEO is a former Creative Director at Mail.RU.
With Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, many players are now choosing to boycott the game in protest and donate money to organisations like The Ukraine Crisis Appeal, International Rescue Committee, and the British Red Cross.
