Australia have a key update going into the game as Alyssa Healy is expected to recover from her injury and be available for the knockout tie. Healy earlier missed South Africa match with an injury. Healy has been an in-form top-order batter for the side with three half-centuries in four innings. Her score sequence in the last four innings are 54*, 37, 55, 62.

Healy’s form has been crucial as her partner Beth Mooney is struggling to find consistency. However, she did produce innings of 56 and 20 in her last two outings.

Meg Lanning scored just one against South Africa but has been in good touch with innings of 41 and 48 in the group stages. Ashleigh Gardner, who has been in great form with the ball, found form with 28-run innings while Tahlia McGrath brought her warm-up form to the group stages with a half-century in the last game.

Ellyse Perry, who is expected to go back to the lower-middle order with Healy’s return, scored 40 against Sri Lanka and will be crucial for the side in the slog overs.

Among bowlers, spinner Gardner, who took seven wickets during group stages, is expected to lead the bowling attack with the pitch conducive to spin bowlers. Leg-spinner Georgia Wareham is going to be pivotal as well with six wickets to her name in last three games.

Among pacers, Megan Schutt has been delivering wickets in the powerplay with seven wickets to her name so far and her new-ball partner Darcie Brown has been handy too with four wickets in the group stages. Ellyse Perry has been among the wickets as well with three dismissals in four games.

There’s no new injury update heading into the semifinal stages for India and will be feeling confident about the fact that their star opener Smriti Mandhana has been in prime form with two consecutive half-centuries upon return from injury.

There’s concern over the forms of Shafali Verma and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur ahead of the game as well. Verma, who won U-19 T20 World Cup as a captain, is yet to play a big knock but did well to tackle the Irish pace in adverse conditions with a 29-ball 24. Her score sequence before that innings read 8, 28, 33, 9, 2, 15. Harmnapreet is struggling to get runs as well with 66 runs in four innings.

Jemimah Rodrigues, whose form has dipped since half-century in the first game, showed a good touch during a 12-ball 19 against Ireland. Richa Ghosh meanwhile had a rare off-day with a golden duck after scoring 213 runs in her last four innings.

Among Indian bowlers, Renuka Singh is in focus after producing a career-best of 5/15 against England. In the past, she also troubled Australians with a 4/10 spell during Commonwealth Games 2022 final.

However, spinners are expected to be more prominent on the surface with Deepti Sharma expected to play an important role with five wickets in three games prior to Ireland match, which was halted by rain.

There’s concern over the form of spinner Radha Yadav though, whose performance has dropped just two wickets away from 100th T20I dismissals. Pacer Pooja Vastrakar is yet to be effective with the ball this World Cup while Shikha Pandey has been picking wickets but not in bunches.

AU-W vs IN-W pitch report, India vs Australia women’s

The Newlands Cricket Ground has been getting slower and dry with every match, making spinners’ role very important in such games. Experts have suggested that the wicket has turned two-paced as well. Batters will look to score on the square boundaries as it’s almost 60 metres at both ends.
