There’s no denying that the bob is the haircut of summer 2022—just ask Aubrey Plaza. But first, some background: From the effortless Italian bob to the cool-girl Scandi bob, the cropped cut has been trending all season for its low-maintenance and heatwave-friendly style. Celebrities have been debuting bobs left and right, with many opting to use natural-looking extensions to create fullness and body. Plaza is the latest celeb to prove the short style doesn’t have to be high-maintenance—and we’re copying her immediately.

The Parks & Recreation actor was photographed outside during New York City’s heatwave this week wearing an undone bob with soft waves and side bangs. The neck-grazing cut emphasises her natural texture and is perfect for keeping cool during a hot summer day. It falls in line with the trending Botticelli bob, which is a modern take on loose S-curl renaissance waves.

“This is a perfect summer look to pack in hydration and minimise hot-tool usage,” Sebastian Professional international stylist Anthony Cole told GLAMOUR. Prep is an easy formula of moisturising and volumising products, quick braids, and a smidgen of overnight magic. “The Botticelli bob is perfect for the on-the-go woman because you can prepare it at night and get up in the morning, take out the braids, run your hands through, and be on your way,” Cole says.
