When it comes to sportiness, Audi is always a front runner.
In the eyes of Volkswagen and its stout brand Audi, they really know luxury and most of the time produces very practical vehicles. Let’s be honest, its A4 is a great luxury option that is priced correctly while its ever so popular mid-size Q5 is a consumer grand slam. In 2021, we now recognize a more sporty option to the already popular mid-size SUV category; this time being the Audi Q5 Sportback.
This overly comfortable mid-size SUV boasts the grand curvatures like others in the European market while maintaining within a reasonable price category. Although storage space reduces with the sportback or hatchback type look, it doesn’t reduce it enough to even mention. Similar to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the Audi Q5 Sportback looks good while riding great.
In the powertrain department, we recognize the popular 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine aligned with a seven-speed S-tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. Our Daytona Gray Pearl tester was very easy on the eyes as it really did not show dirt or road grime. More importantly, you didn’t see a lot of them on the road although the front end showed no change to its sister model, the Q5.
In the VW line, we always like to recognize congruences in the fleet, and we pair this with the Tiguan’s size and ability while aligning with the Atlas Cross Sport looks. The ride and overall features of the vehicle remain true to Audi as our Premium Plus model came with all the bells and whistles. For a total of $7,000 in options, we notice a nice navigation system, easy-to-use infotainment system with center console volume control, 21-inch 5-double spoke wheels, a Bang and Olufsen sound system with 3D sound and all of the luxury safety features you can expect in a top model like this.
As top tier as it gets, keep Audi in mind as well in the safety category. Five stars align the government crash test rating in overall vehicle score, frontal crash, side crash while rollover came in with four stars.
Audi continues its evolution of new models and ideas to keep consumers interested in the brand, and for the Audi Q5 Sportback, there is a whole lot of bang for the buck that will keep Audi lovers interested for years to come.
