Among the injured was a 28-year-old male rider who suffered a fractured arm and facial injuries that left him blind in one eye.

Police say the alleged attack occurred around 9:30 a.m. on May 20 in Trigg, in Perth’s north, on West Coast Drive.

A public appeal for information led to the arrest of the two men charged.

“It would appear those involved thought it would be fun to use potatoes as projectiles aimed at people minding their own business and enjoying our coastal strip,” said Ins. Brett Baddock to news.com.au.

“This so-called fun has ended in tragedy, with the victim losing one eye.”
