Austin Reaves emerged as a budding star for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. The young guard initially showed promise as a rotational piece, earning more minutes as the season went on.
First-year head coach Darvin Ham eventually gained enough trust in Reaves to insert him into the starting lineup and he flourished. Reaves meshed well with both the Lakers’ established stars and new talent acquired at the trade deadline.
Playing for the most popular team in the NBA will draw a lot of attention, and rumors about Reaves’ personal life started during his ascension to the top of the sport.
Reaves recently took some time to put one of those rumors to rest.

On a recent episode of the “All The Smoke” podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Reaves addressed rumors that he dated pop superstar Taylor Swift.
“I have never met her, never talked to her,” Reaves said. “All bulls—.”
The rumors appear to have been started by a parody account on Twitter, and the (completely fabricated) story spread like wildfire after Swift broke up with her previous boyfriend.
It appears that Reaves is ready to keep everything focused on basketball. That’s a stance that will likely pay off well for him in a city like Los Angeles.
