The comparison of Babar Azam and Virat Kohli is an ongoing debate in the cricketing fraternity. The two sets of supporters have often indulged in the comparison of two batting stars.

Although Babar is a top-notch batter who has scored a lot of runs, in terms of records and stats, he is still miles behind Virat Kohli. The former Indian skipper has 25,322 international runs across all formats with 75 centuries. Babar, on the other hand, has amassed 12,270 international runs with 30 centuries across all formats.
Though the Pakistan batter is six years younger than Kohli, he still has a lot of ground to cover to even come near Kohli’s pedigree. But World Cup-winning Pakistan captain turned current politician Imran Khan believes Babar will overtake his Indian rival in the coming days.
“I haven’t recently seen cricket, but I believe that Virat Kohli and Babar Azam belong to the same class. Babar Azam can easily surpass Virat Kohli. He is that good, from what I have seen,” Imran Khan was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Babar had a superb outing in Pakistan’s most recent international matches. The batter scored 276 runs in 5 ODI matches as Pakistan drubbed New Zealand 4-1 at home. Kohli, on the other hand, had a dismal outing in the WTC Final 2023, scoring just 62 across two innings as India lost the final against Australia.
