Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood is working as a pizza chef in his new girlfriend ‘s country pub.

The 55-year-old TV star began dating Melissa Spalding, 37, back in 2019, and has been moonlighting in The Chequers Inn in Smarden, Kent, while on a break from filming the Channel 4 show.

Melissa is the landlady of the pub, which is owned by her parents, and in a post on its Facebook page they appealed to hungry customers by revealing celebrity baker Paul would be helping out in the kitchen.

“Delicious authentic Italian pizzas cooked fresh to order!! Our chefs for the night will be Scott Spalding and Paul Hollywood,” the post read.

According to The Sun, Scott is Melissa’s brother, and her move to employ boyfriend Paul as the part-time pizza chef is part of her efforts to bring in more business to the pub.

A source told the outlet: “While most landladies might have to shell out for a star chef, Melissa can just call her boyfriend. She and her parents hope he will get some business through the door.”

The TV star, who is worth more than £10 million, even has a pizza named after him – Paul’s Pizza – which is the most expensive on the menu, and features delicious toppings including tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, Parmesan and cream.

The silver-haired baker, who earns £1.2 million a year judging the hit Channel 4 show, is currently between projects as the new series of Bake Off doesn’t begin filming until April.

The news comes just days after Paul and Melissa made their red carpet debut at the premiere of The King’s Man in London earlier this month.

Paul rocked black velvet blazer for the star-studded bash in London’s Leicester Square, alongside his girlfriend who looked stunning in a plunging black floor-length gown.

The couple began dating in 2019, shortly after his split from his barmaid ex Summer Monteys-Fullam.

Paul and Summer met in 2017, and after his ex-wife Alex filed for divorce later that same year, the best-selling cookbook author moved the barmaid into his £1million Grade II-listed farmhouse in Kent.

Despite lavishing her with expensive gifts over the course of their two-year romance, including a £9,000 hot tub, they parted ways.

Paul and Melissa had only been dating for five months when he asked her to stay in his countryside home during the Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020, and now, the pub landlady has moved in permanently.
