Balenciaga’s haute couture show featured a star-studded line-up including Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman and Dua Lipa

In fact, long velvet gloves seemed to be Gvasalia’s accessory of choice, sported by both Dua Lipa –  who wore a lemon yellow one-shoulder gown with delicately ruched fabric – and Bella Hadid; whose emerald green piece with its puffed waist and bow-tie front is basically the prom dress we wish we’d all had.

Perhaps surprisingly, Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn also appeared in a silver sequin-studded dress, but it was Naomi Campbell who was undoubtedly the star of the show in an exaggerated puffball dress with a cone-shaped chest. The true definition of fashion royalty.

Elsewhere at this year’s Couture Fashion Week, Chanel’s Autumn-Winter 2022/ 23 runway was awash with power suits, bold colours and typically old-school Chanel dresses, with masculine boots and hair bows as the accessories of choice; while Dior’s show was giving full-on cottagecore, brimming with folkloric motifs, romantic lace designs and intricate embroidery. We can’t wait to see what the rest of Haute Couture Fashion Week has in store this year.
