The La Liga winners played a friendly game just 48 hours after their title win against Andres Iniesta’s Vissel Kobe at the Japan National Stadium where they won 2-0.
The squad however is now all set for a long break before returning to action in July setting up their base on the west coast of the United States where they will play four major European clubs in just under two weeks. They will start their campaign with games against Juventus on 22nd July followed by Arsenal four days later.
But the biggest high-octane game of their pre-season will be against arch-rival Real Madrid on July 29 in Arlington, Texas. They will conclude the tour with a game against AC Milan on 1st August.
They are expected to return to Spain to compete in the annual Joan Gamper trophy next before the season kicks off. However, neither the opponent nor the location of the competition has been announced yet.
Most of the first team core members are expected to be part of the pre-season tour although a couple of departures could occur prior with the likes of Ansu Fati, and Ferran Torress all having an uncertain future at the club.
Alongside the first time, a number of academy starlets like Lamine Yamal, Aleix Garrido, Marc Casadó, Estanis Pedrola, and Chadi Riad are also expected to be part of pre-season action and impress Xavi and co.
