Cam Johnson stunned the NBA world with a sizzling first half Monday night.

The Brooklyn Nets forward set a personal playoff high with 22 points in the opening half of Game 2 against the Philadelphia 76ers. He made nine of 13 shots, including four three-pointers, to give Brooklyn a 49-44 lead at the break.

Viewers couldn’t believe what they saw, particularly after Johnson posturized MVP candidate Joel Embiid on a ferocious dunk.

“CAM JOHNSON PUT EMBIID ON A POSTER,” SportsCenter exclaimed with photographic evidence of the jam.

“Violence in the city of Brotherly Love. Suspect: Cam Johnson,” Newsday‘s Evan Barnes wrote.

“I saw the way Cam Johnson’s confidence was through the roof after taking shots late last game,” Marcus Phelps observed. “He’s here tonight. Sheesh.”

“The Cam Johnson game???” ESPN’s Mina Kimes wondered.

Brooklyn acquired Johnson as part of the blockbuster deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns. Drawing an expanded role with his new team, the 27-year-old averaged 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists (all above his career norms) in 25 regular-season games.

Johnson also had a hot hand Saturday night, going 7-of-11 for 18 points in a 121-101 loss to Philadelphia. Monday’s outburst has the Nets keeping pace, but the 76ers are receiving their own standout performance from Tyrese Maxey.

TNT is currently televising the first-round playoff matchup.
