EA and DICE have released previews for three maps that will be available in the upcoming Battlefield 2042. Each of these three new environments is shown in the newly released promotional video ahead of the game dropping on November 19.
The three new maps, which are called Renewal, Breakaway, and Discarded, will each feature unique environments and exciting gameplay. Each environment will also feature signature multiplayer features such as verticality, close-quarters, and long-range combat, as well as vehicular assault and dynamic destruction. Each of these features will be available for All-Out Warfare, Battlefield Portal, and Hazard Zone modes of the game.
Renewal is split between an Egyptian desert and features a solar array Power Station and a research facility nestled within a lush wetland, separated by a wall. This area features close-quarters battles along the wall between both areas, as well as a choke-point located through the Entry Checkpoint in Conquest located at the center of the map.
Breakaway is set in Antarctica and features an offshore platform on the Frozen Coast. There is also an Outlook Station above the battlefield for air battles. Players will fight among a series of broken-up glaciers, traveling by zip-line and rope bridges between ice cliffs.
Discarded, the third environment, is set in a flooded village on the western coast of India and features a Colossus ship for players to explore. The map will feature close-quarters combat and will let players fight in the Colossus as airships and tanks attack from opposing directions. This map features unpredictable weather, including the occasional tornado, so players should stay on edge.
Battlefield 2042 will be available for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series S, as well as PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The game will be released on November 19, with early access starting on November 12. Check out the reveal trailer below:
