Bawaal: Janhvi Kapoor got ‘teary-eyed’ during script reading; Varun Dhawan found it ‘vulnerable and emotional’ : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

Bawaal is set to take the audience on a romantic journey across beautiful locales, both local and international. It is the love-story that also promises an emotional rollercoaster between two individuals, Ajju (Varun Dhawan) and Nisha (Janhvi Kapoor) who couldn’t be more different. Conceptualized by acclaimed filmmaker and National-award winner – Nitesh Tiwari, Bawaal, is a dream project for any actor. But what makes the story more captivating and endearing is the bittersweet effect the script had on the lead pair while reading the script, not only the first time but every single time.

Speaking about the first time they were brought to hear out the script of Bawaal, Janhvi Kapoor told the Times of India, “I actually got a 30-minute speed narration for the first time when Nitesh was telling me about the film. And I teared up a lot by the end of it. Got quite teary. And I laughed quite a bit throughout.”

Varun Dhawan added, “Similarly, for me it was like, there’s a lot of fun in this, there’s a lot of humour in this. The film is, you know, now it goes into this part. So, it’s very interesting. And by the end of it, it just gets you and then you are like feeling very vulnerable and emotional. And I was like, when did this happen? How did this script get me here? And every time, every time I read it, every time sir narrated it, even in the first narration I got emotional, the second narration I got emotional, when I read it I got emotional. And I laughed. So, the best thing about this script is every time you go through it, you have the same reaction. And if that happens 4-5 times, then it’s definitely working. So, if your reactions are consistent, that’s like a huge mark.”

Starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, Bawaal is a timeless love story by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari’s Earthsky Pictures. Bawaal will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and across 200 countries and territories worldwide on 21 July.
