While viewers were concerned by the serious matter, many couldn’t help but find “adorable” Jed a distraction.
Several took to social media to comment on Jed’s appearance on the show as well as his size.
Twitter user @Haggis_UK wrote: “Just switched on #BBCBreakfast & didn’t expect to see this huge rabbit munching away on the curvy couch.”
@Speedqueenie penned: “That is a massive bunny rabbit #BBCBreakfast.”
@JIMBO_SOLAR shared: “@BBCBreakfast Just adorable!” while @Floweries1 commented: “Must have drank more than I thought yesterday. Could have sworn I’ve just seen a rabbit on the BBC Breakfast sofa.” (sic)
@Nightingales1_2 added: “@BBCBreakfast just another sad sad example of how we mistreat and abuse animals. breed them and then dump them in rescue shelters.”
However, others weren’t as pleased to see the cute and festive animal, with @YaphamRoad complaining: “Very slow news day. #bbcbreakfast.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
