What cheating scandal? On October 1, Behati Prinsloo joined her husband Adam Levine at a charity event in Las Vegas just a couple of weeks after Instagram model Sumner Stroh went public with intimate DMs from the Maroon 5 frontman.
According to People, Prinsloo was in the audience during her husband’s seven-song set at The Event benefiting The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation. People reports that Levine did not mention the alleged affair but seemed to sing part of his song Sunday Morning in his wife’s direction. Prinsloo was also featured in the 2018 music video for Girls Like You, which played in the background during the band’s performance of the song.
Prinsloo and Levine married in 2014 and have two daughters: Dusty Rose, born in 2016, and Gio Grace, born in 2018. The Victoria’s Secret model is currently pregnant with their third child.
On September 19, Stroh posted a TikTok video detailing her alleged affair with Levine after the singer messaged her asking for permission to use her first name for his unborn child. “Ok serious question. I’m having another baby and if it’s w boy, I really wanna name it Sumner,” the DM read, according to a screenshot. “You ok with that? DEAD serious.”
A day later, Levine admitted to messaging Stroh but denied a physical affair. “I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,” said in a statement. “I did not have an affair. Nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.”
He continued, “In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.”
Though Behati Prinsloo has not released an official statement, one source says she is “very upset” but “100% committed to her family.”
“[Adam] admitted that he went behind her back and has been inappropriate. He admitted that he acted like an idiot. She is still very upset though,” the source told People. “Adam is very understanding about her feelings. He is trying his best to make things better. He never wants a divorce.”
On the same night Adam Levine performed in Las Vegas, the Payphone singer was being parodied by Mikey Day on Saturday Night Live.
In the sketch, Day’s Levine was a contestant in the fictional gameshow Send Something Normal. “The game is very simple. We have four male celebrity contestants, and all they have to do is reply to a woman’s DM on Instagram in a way that is normal,” host Miles Teller tells the contestants. “And fellows, if you send a normal DM, you win $100 million.”
As you can imagine, Levine failed.
