Beleaguered Alec Baldwin lists longtime Hamptons estate for $29 million

Alec Baldwin is selling his beloved, longtime estate in the Hamptons, listing the 10,000-square foot home on 10 acres for $29 million, a report said Thursday.

The controversial actor, still waiting to find out if he’ll be criminally charged in the fatal 2021 shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his Western film, “Rust,” did not respond to inquiries from the New York Post about why he’s selling his Amagansett farm, which he purchased in 1995 for $1.75 million.

Baldwin’s efforts to sell the estate, which he once called his “favorite place,” come seven months after he and his influencer wife, Hilaria Baldwin, purchased a massive 55-acre farm in Vermont for $1.75 million, the Post said.

The Baldwins also sold their upstate New York lake house in July, and have been quietly shopping their $16 million Greenwich village penthouse off-market since the COVID-19 pandemic, The Post added.

The sale of the four-bedroom house, overlooking a bucolic preserve and representing “a marriage of nature and luxury,” will no doubt give Baldwin’s online critics new reason to believe he must be financially strapped despite his estimated net worth of $60 million.

Baldwin’s brood of young children continues to grow. Hilaria Baldwin will soon give birth to their seventh child, and all those children reportedly require a retinue of nannies and education at pricey private schools.

Baldwin’s money woes also could arise from Hutchins’ death in October 2021. As the star and producer of “Rust,” Baldwin has been named as a plaintiff in several wrongful death lawsuits. He also told CNN in August that he had lost out on five jobs in the wake of the shooting.

“I got fired from another job yesterday,” Baldwin told CNN. “There I was all set to go to a movie, jump on a plane … I’ve been talking with these guys for months and they told me yesterday we don’t want to do the film with you because of this.”

Baldwin denies responsibility for Hutchins’ death, but he was handling the gun that killed her while rehearsing a scene for the film. For reasons that have yet to be settled, the gun held a live round and accidentally fired, fatally injuring Hutchins, the mother of a young son. Baldwin said he was told by a crew member that the gun was safe to use and has controversially claimed that he didn’t pull the trigger.

In addition to Baldwin’s “Rust” woes, the often combative actor is being sued by the sisters and widow of a U.S. Marine killed in Afghanistan for $25 million. They allege he exposed them to social media hatred after Baldwin learned one of the women was at the Capitol on Jan. 6 of last year.

Whatever reasons Baldwin has for selling his Hamptons property, he often expressed his love for the area. “I always dreamed of living here,” Baldwin said in a March 2021 Instagram video.

Baldwin said in the video that he once was of the few people who chose to buy homes north of the main highway through the Hamptons, with his two-story Amagansett farmhouse a few miles away from the ocean.

Baldwin first lived on the property with his first wife, Kim Basinger, until their bitter 2002 divorce. Just before Basinger filed for divorce in 2001, the New York Post reported that she had emptied out the house and had everything trucked away, leaving only the marital bed.
