Bella Hadid Debuts a Dramatic Blonde Hair Transformation

Bella Hadid is going blonde for winter. The model teamed up with hairstylist Jessica Gillin and colorist-to-the-New-York-blondes Jenna Perry for a last-ditch 2022 hair transformation, switching her brunette for a waist-skimming mane of beige blonde that harkens color trends to come.

 “We have been dreaming up a lighter color for a while, but this was a ‘Let’s see how far we can go’ moment,” says Perry, who lifted Hadid’s deep hue to as pale a blonde as possible before creating the final color. “We’re calling this shade ‘Baby Bella’ or ‘Aspen Blonde,’” says Perry.” The color feels virgin and natural.” For length, Gillin custom-colored and rooted a range of blondes to match the final shade, further blending the extensions with cleaned-up bangs and long layers. To mimic the cut, Gillian suggests requesting a long bang that parts in the middle, along with face-framing layers—or even extensions for some instantly-gratifying elongation. 

The final look was a classic Hadid change-up, an answer to Gigi’s brushes with blonde and the simultaneous takes on the enduring red trend. Look for ‘Aspen Blonde’ in the new year—pros predict that beige manes may be among the year’s more prevalent shades. After all, when it comes to setting trends, there’s no one quite like Bella.
