The third fatality of Friday’s horror collision which took the lives of three people and injured three others has been named.

Care worker Julie Ann Kehoe, 29, from Craanford, Co Wexford, was rushed to hospital but later died of her injuries.

She was travelling with two baby girls and a 12-year-old boy who is understood to be in a serious condition.

The girls’ injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Ms Kehoe and her partner were building their home in Cavan where she planned to move after her 12-year-old son finished primary school in Craanford, reports the Irish Mirror.

Fianna Fail councillor Donal Kenny said: “The family and community are deeply saddened and devastated to hear the news of the utterly tragic passing of Julie Ann.

“Our hearts are broken for the family, who are well known and respected in the locality. I offer my deepest sympathy to her mother, Geraldine, and family.”

Ms Kehoe was the youngest of four siblings, Gerard, Ciaran and Martina. Her father John Morris is deceased.






Shane Gilchrist was killed with his partner Saoirse Corrigan

Shane Gilchrist and Saoirse Corrigan were travelling in the same car when they collided with a second vehicle at the N52 in Kells, Meath at around 4.25pm on New Year’s Eve.

Ms Corrigan, the driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead on the scene, while Mr Gilchirst died while being brought to Connolly Hospital

Both were from Castlepollard and were in a relationship.
