Beloved West Aussie Johnny Ruffo has shared heartwarming snaps in an appreciation post to his mother.
The former Home and Away star took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate his mum.
“Happy Mothers Day, sometimes I take for granted the things you do, but just know how much I love and appreciate you, you mean the world to me xx,” Johnny captioned the post.
Australian TV presenter Kylie Gillies and fellow Home & Away actress Lynne McGranger both shared their love, commenting three hearts on the post.
Ruffo, who is living with terminal brain cancer, posted more wholesome snaps of his life on Instagram just last month.
The 35-year-old captioned the photo dump “Few snaps from life lately” which featured himself, his partner Tahnee Sims and her mother Charmaine.
In August last year, Ruffo revealed that it had been five years since his initial diagnosis.
He thought he was clear in 2019 but learned his cancer had come back in 2020.
The X-Factor finalist was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and has frequently updated his loyal supporters on his road to recovery.
The WA-born star is often commended on his positive outlook on life.
“At some point, it’s going to get me, but I’m still fighting, still kicking on,” he said.
“Looking up my diagnosis and my tumour . . . the average life expectancy was three years.
“And for me, it’s now been five years. I’m already winning. My goal now is to try and help as many people as I can and also live a happy life.”
