Ben Simmons is easily one of the most highly-scrutinized athletes in the NBA. And on Tuesday, the former All-Star point guard took to social media with a message for his critics.
Simmons posted a workout photo on his Instagram story with the caption, “Minding my business and working my ass off. Chop wood carry water.”
Take a look at the post here:
Simmons has been consistently inconsistent over the last couple NBA seasons due to mental health and back injury issues. After holding out the entire 2021-22 season with the Philadelphia 76ers, the three-time All-Star appeared in just 42 games for the Brooklyn Nets this past season.
Through 26.3 minutes per game, Simmons averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 2022-23. He missed every game after the All-Star break and was officially ruled out for the remainder of the season in March, once again siting back issues.
We’ve seen offseason posts like this from Simmons in the past. Could he really be ready for a comeback this coming season?
