The Spiaggia Dei Conigli in Lampedusa, Italy, is the best beach to visit this summer according to recent Tripadvisor reviews.
Where is Lampedusa?
Lampedusa is located between Malta and Tunisia on the Pelagie Islands, in the south of Sicily, and its most famous beach, Spiaggia Dei Conigli, means “rabbit beach” when translated into English.
The famous spot has crystal clear waters, golden sand and breathtaking views of Isola dei Conigli, or “rabbit island”, straight ahead.
Lampedusa is a dreamy destination very popular among Italians for its sandy beaches and its clear turquoise waters. Travellers can get there with a direct flight from most Italian cities, or with a ferry from Sicily.

What to see in Lampedusa
Spiaggia Dei Conigli is definitely the most popular beach and a must-see. One visitor from Spain said on the travel platform: “A marvelous beach. This beach is very famous because of its beauty and also because it is a nesting beach for the loggerhead turtles.”
Another traveller named Stefano commented: “Crystal clear water… Maldives-like crystal clear water, or like the Caribbean…”
Although Lampedusa’s main attraction is its coast, travel blogger Kirsty recommended visiting the Santuario della Madonna di Porto Salvo.
“There is very little to do on the island that doesn’t involve beaches or water but one very historic site to visit is the beautiful sanctuary of Madonna, near Cala Madonna. Madonna di Porto Salvo is the Patron Saint of Lampedusa,” she explained on her travel blog Whatkirstydidnext.
In second place was Praia dos Tres Irmaos, Alvor, in Portugal, with 79.9 percent of reviews on Tripadvisor being excellent.
Located in the popular region of Algarve, in southern Portugal, the beautiful beach is famous for its spectacular rock formations and hidden caves.
Its name can be translated as “beach of the three brothers” because of the three distinctive rocks which run across the beach.
The Praia dos Tres Irmaos was followed by Playa de Ses Illetes in Formentera, Spain. The Balearic Islands have some of the most stunning beaches but Playa de Ses Illetes, with its pink sand and turquoise waters, is definitely the most spectacular one.
In Greece, the most beautiful beaches are Sarakiniko Beach and Balos Lagoon, and the best beach in Iceland according to the study is the picturesque Reynisfjara Beach.
Other beaches that made it to the top 10 are Sotavento Beach, in Spain, Iztuzu Beach, in Turkey, Fig Tree Bay, in Cyprus and Plage du Sillon, in France.
A spokesperson for Europe Yachts commented on the results saying: “Europe is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
“From the crystal-clear waters of Greece and the Mediterranean to the stunning shorelines of Iceland, every type of beach can be found across Europe. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a surfer’s paradise or a family vacation, plenty can be discovered.”
