Going to the pub for a drink after work or a roast at the weekend is again a possibility for many Britons with the end of Plan B restrictions. Plan B was lifted on January 26, and with Dry January also coming to an end, pubs are expecting punters to come in droves.
But while the mood may be celebratory, it is still winter and a beer garden may not be the best pub option for Britons.
This is why company Radiance Fireplaces ranked British pubs on their cosiness.
Coming top was Hole in t’ Wall in Bowness in the Lake District.
On Tripadvisor, Leon T said: “Popped in on our final night of our trip to Bowness and aren’t we glad we did!
“Sat right next to a roaring fire and this place is the definition of a true traditional great British PUB!

“For a pub of this style the drinks options were great and plenty of choice. Great prices also!
“The food: after a week in Bowness this was by far the best place we’d eaten.
“Absolutely fantastic and can tell it’s homemade and prepared with love.”
And reviewer Sunny wrote: “We came here during our log cabin holiday the week before Christmas.
“The fire was on and roaring away, it was so cosy and relaxing atmosphere.
“They were serving mulled wine and the pub was decorated lovely and quirky. Really great find.”
DON’T MISS
Coming third was Cottage Loaf in Llandudno, Wales.
User Pollydoodle wrote: “Never fails to please.
“Whenever we visit Llandudno we try to eat here. We had a lovely meal here last night, standards are always high, we have never been disappointed with our meal.”
CarolandDavid said: “Lovely food, book online if you want to guarantee a table, especially on a Sunday for their fabulous Sunday roast.”
Karl Sullivan from Radiance Fireplaces said: “The pub is supposed to be a place of warmth and welcome and there’s no shortage of such places around the UK.
“This study highlights how much of an integral part pubs play in local communities and it’s really encouraging to see the range of places featuring in the top 10.
“After a couple of years of lockdowns and drinking outside, what better way to spend a winter weekend than in front of the fire in your local, regardless of whether you’re drinking or not.”
