At first glance, an impact wrench looks a lot like a regular drill, but unlike a drill it is designed to deliver a very high rotational torque.
Normally used to loosen or tighten nuts and bolts, impact wrenches employ a hammering mechanism to apply high torque in quick bursts, and are designed to be used with the same kind of sockets you would find in a ratchet set.
Since the impact wrench does all the work and exerts all the torque necessary, you won’t need to exert yourself to get the job done. No matter how tight a nut or bolt might be, the immense torque from the hammering mechanism means that even the most stubborn nuts and bolts can be loosened with relative ease.
