Best March Madness prop bets for Thursday’s NCAA Tournament Round of 64

It’s 2023. Filling out a bracket and betting on sides and totals aren’t the only ways to wager on the NCAA Tournament.

Now, you can bet on player props too (as long as your state allows it).

So, with the madness set to begin with 16 games scheduled to take place on Thursday, I’m here to give you a few player props that I like for the first full day of action.

Let’s dive into them.

March Madness Round of 64 player props

  • Kobe Brown OVER 15.5 points
  • Kris Murray UNDER 19.5 points
  • Kyle Filipowski OVER 8.5 rebounds

Kobe Brown OVER 15.5 points

If you love points, you’re going to want to tune into Thursday’s game between Missouri and Utah State. The Tigers rank 17th in the country in effective field goal percentage, and now they get to face a Utah State team that’s 113th in defensive efficiency.

Kobe Brown is averaging 15.8 points per game for Missouri this season, but he enters the NCAA Tournament on a hot streak, going over this total in two of his last three games including a 24 point performance against Tennessee in the SEC Tournament quarterfinal.

Now that he gets to face a much weaker defense than he saw often in the SEC, I’ll back him to go OVER his total against Utah State.

Kris Murray UNDER 19.5 points

The Auburn defense is one of the most underrated defenses in the country, and Kris Murray of the Iowa Hawkeyes could be in for a tough day on Thursday. That’s especially the case when you consider Murray gets a majority of his points from 3-point land. He has attempted at least eight 3-pointers in each of his last four games.

Now, he and the Hawkeyes have to face an Auburn team that’s fifth in the country in opponent three-point field goal percentage. The Tigers keep teams to shooting just 28.8% from beyond the arc, which is going to hurt Murray’s point total on Thursday.

I’ll take the UNDER on his point total in this SEC vs. Big Ten showdown.

Kyle Filipowski OVER 8.5 rebounds

There are plenty of people who think Oral Roberts is a great upset candidate against Duke in the Round of 64 in the tournament. Sure, Oral Roberts can shoot the lights out, but one area that the Blue Devils will certainly have an advantage in is rebounding.

The Golden Eagles rank just 196th in the country in rebounding rate. That’s going to mean Duke’s big man, Kyle Filipowski, should be able to rack up the rebounds on Thursday.

He averaged 9.0 rebounds per game this season, so all we need is for him to hit his season average and we’ll cash our bet.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
