Whether tourists fancy a stroll along the beach or a ramble in the British countryside, the UK has plenty to offer staycationing holidaymakers. In 2023, there’s a few destinations and activities stealing the spotlight.
Pembrokeshire
The stunning Welsh region has always been one of the county’s top destinations but in 2023, it’s raising the bar.
Visit Pembrokeshire said: “For gourmands looking for the next hot gastronomy destination, this beautiful southwest region of Wales should be on their list.
“The glorious coastal and pastoral landscape is home to bountiful produce and foodie highlights galore – ready to discover via foraging, seasonal dining at exquisite eateries, abundant produce markets and local food emporia and farm shops, including Ritec Valley Organics and Farmers Food at Home.
“The recently-opened Annwn Restaurant is a forager’s dream; spend the day learning how to forage in a sustainable and sensitive way, navigating the idyllic surrounds and landscapes, and finish with a multicourse dinner from the day’s finds. Blackrock Outdoor Company, meanwhile, specialises in coastal foraging – and, for those seeking more of an understanding of our fragile eco-systems, the Rockpool Safari Course is a must.”

Scotland’s isolated Isle of Skye is the perfect destination to get off the grid for a bit of peace and quiet in 2023.
‘The Misty Isle’ is a leading destination for wildlife lovers, offering the chance to spot the ‘Skye Five’.
Children will love exploring the picturesque island as they search for seals, red deer, otters and white-tailed eagles.
