World Snooker Championship sponsor Betfred has made an incredible donation of £25,000 to WST’s official charity Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home.
Before the tournament started, Betfred pledged £200 for every century break to Jessie May, with the total to be rounded up to £25,000 if 80 centuries were made.
Amazingly that target has been reached in the very first session of the quarter-finals, with Mark Williams composing the 80th ton in his match with Yan Bingtao.
Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home, based in Bristol, is WST’s official charity partner. They provide a hospice at home service for terminally ill children, offering care to families in the South West area.
Lindsey Horton, Corporate Partnerships Officer for Jessie May, said: “We send huge thanks to Betfred for once again supporting us with donations for century breaks at the World Championship. Every penny raised enables our Nurses to continue providing professional palliative care for the children on our caseload.”
