The woman of the moment Beyoncé was overcome with emotion as she expressed how grateful she was to receive a special recognition at the Brit Awards 2023.
And the only thing that would have made the moment that much sweeter would have been Queen Bey being there in person.
Tonight, Beyoncé was up against Burna Boy, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo and Taylor Swift in the category for international artist of the year.
Having bowled the Beyhive over with her Renaissance album, which took the world by storm last year, the 41-year-old wasn’t able to be there in person to accept the accolade.
Instead, she spoke to her fans in pre-recorded message, holding her Brit while wearing a stunning black-and-white ensemble as she beamed at the camera.
‘Thank you so much for this incredible recognition. I’d like to say thank you to all of my friends out there in Britain for your continuous support over the years,’ she said, as she prepares to kick off her Renaissance world tour, which includes widely-sought-after legs in the UK.
‘The Renaissance begins. I’ll see y’all on tour. Thank you so much for this honour!
