Beyoncé says she 100% did not screw over her fashion designer

Artist and fashion designer Nusi Quero became the latest person to accuse Beyoncé of some kind of thievery and/or underhandedness with regards to Renaissance. But before anyone comes to any conclusions, you should know that Bey’s team has already responded, and they come bearing receipts.

In since deleted Instagram posts, Quero claimed that neither he nor his collaborator had been paid by Beyoncé stylist Marni Senofonte for months. Beyoncé’s publicist has already responded with a flat denial of everything Quero has said.

“It is deeply troubling that designer Nusi Quero has posted damaging statements about Marni Senofonte regarding non-payments for work completed,” the response reads, via Entertainment Tonight. “In fact, he was paid for his work, and there is proof of all payments made.”

According to Team Bey, “We have been in communication with his team and there were three payments made to him. The first payment was made on May 9, 2022. The second payment, a fifty percent down payment on the agreed cost, was made via wire on July 8, 2022. The third and final payment was returned when he changed his account number,” which was an error “on his part.”

Finally, “After persistent and exhausting communication to get the correct information on his account and two unsuccessful wire transfer attempts, a physical check was mailed to him for final payment on September 29, 2022.”

Beyoncé and her publicist are clearly keeping busy swatting down claims of this kind. Just a few days before Quero complained of nonpayment on Instagram, Beyoncé released a statement to E! News shooting down the band Right Said Fred for claiming she never asked permission to sample their hit, I’m Too Sexy.

The statement began, “Permission was not only granted for its use, but they publicly spoke of their gratitude for being on the album,” going on to provide exact dates for when permission was asked, when it was granted, and when the band (who are credited as writers on the song) was paid.

You know what they say about coming for the Queen, right? You best not miss.
