It stated: “The majority of complaints related to a comment by Bruno about Nathan and Joanne’s routine.”

A spokesperson for Ofcom confirmed the complaints were about Bruno saying Nathan had “peeked up Joanne’s shirt”, according to Metro.co.uk

“We are assessing the complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate,” they added.

Bruno cannot be heard making the reported remark on the catch-up episode which is on ITVX.

Express.co.uk has contacted ITV for comment on the matter.

Britain’s Got Talent fans took to Twitter to comment last week, with Margaret Anne penning: “I was disgusted at @BrunoTonioli when he suggested to the young boy that he had had a “little peek ” up the lady’s skirt whilst dancing with her. This is a family show, Bruno. Please keep your inappropriate remarks to yourself.”

Jan Murrock said: “I totally agree! Bruno should be voted off not just for that inappropriate comment but also for thinking it’s all about him. Constantly playing to the camera! Sit down and shut up! Even Alesha looked exasperated.”

Charlotte Moore said: “Bruno’s comment about having a ‘peek up her skirt’ (Nathan and Joanne) was so inappropriate and uncomfortable to watch.”

Damsyn Ray Jones shared: “Am I alone in being disturbed by Bruno’s, ‘I bet you had a peek’ #BGT2023?”

Britain’s Got Talent episodes are available to watch on ITVX.
