KUWAIT CITY, Jan 31: The incorporation of commercial activities that are not included in local or international activities is not just included in the list of activities approved by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, but are also subject to the approval and controls of other government agencies with jurisdiction to monitor the type of activities required to be listed, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources. They said the law stipulates the following – “Without prejudice to the Companies Law and the laws regulating the practice of some activities, the Minister of Commerce and Industry shall issue a decision to define and classify the commercial activities that may be practiced in the state and their capital, in accordance with one of the internationally recognized regulations, and to work on developing and updating them periodically in accordance with the needs of economic activity in the country and the requirements of its economic development” In this regard, the sources said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently requested the opinion of the Ministry of Health regarding the possibility of allowing the “cosmetic cooling” (cryotherapy) activity in Kuwait, as well as specifying the controls to be implemented in the event that this activity is approved, especially since it is not included in local or international activities.
They explained that one of the citizens submitted a request to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to create a new activity under the name “Cosmetic Cooling Center”, which prompted the ministry to address the Ministry of Health regarding whether or not to include this activity in the list of activities allowed to be practiced. This activity is not included in the local and international activities, which prompted the need to request for approval from the Ministry of Health, with the identification of the controls required to practice the activity upon approval. It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is working tirelessly to improve the business environment in Kuwait in accordance with international standards and a specific timetable.
