The Big 12 has been the best conference in the entire country this season and the tournament will highlight the elite play of the teams this coming week.

The defending National Champions Kansas won the Big 12 outright despite having a ton of new faces on the roster, including freshman Gradey Dick and transfer Kevin McCullar. However, the Jayhawks had to survive the likes of a loaded Texas and Baylor team that are angling for a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and other up and comers such as TCU and Iowa State.

It’s a crowded conference with several capable teams of making the Final Four, let’s get you ready for the Big 12 Conference tournament:

Big 12 Conference tournament prediction and pick

There’s plenty of worthy teams that could win this conference tournament, but let’s break down TCU’s prospects of making a run.

Despite being the No. 6 seed in the field, the team owns a home victory against first round opponent Kansas State by double digits. Yes, the team lost at Kansas State on the road by 21, but that was without star guard Mike Miles.

If the Horned Frogs can get past Kansas State in a game that will be lined inside of bucket either way, the team gets a matchup against Texas, who they beat two weeks ago and led by double digits on the road in January before squandering a late lead.

When assessing the Horned Frogs prospects of beating Kansas, the team handed the Jayhawks a 23-point loss at Allen Fieldhouse in late January. TCU’s upside is as high as any team in the conference.

Despite having odds below the likes of Baylor and Iowa State, who have to likely face Kansas in the semifinals, TCU is a team that is dominate in the open court on offense and generate a ton of turnovers, a formula that can propel them to a Big 12 tournament Finals appearance.
