She has encouraged her followers to offer their suggestions as to what to do before she loses her eyesight.

“This diagnosis of having Ushers syndrome blew me away, an absolute kick in the guts,” she said.

“But I’m gonna turn it into a positive and do a bucket list and would love for you all to be involved. Give me all your suggestions and we will do this together.”

Bird opened up to PerthNow earlier this year about wanting to be a role model for other vision-impaired people.

“I’m honestly so proud of myself for going in and doing what I did and having a go. I just wanted to show people who do live with disabilities that you can get out there and achieve anything that you put your mind to, and I’m so proud to represent people with a disability.”
