One of footy’s all-time greats, Aaron Sandilands, is selling his family home in Attadale.
The 210cm (6 foot 11 inch) former Docker — the equal tallest man to ever play the sport professionally — has accepted an offer on his suitably large property.
Sitting on almost 900sqm of land on Burke Drive — metres from Troy Park and the Swan River — the two-storey home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a four-car garage.
The gardens are immaculately manicured, and include a pool, which he can probably credit to his role as managing director at Gecko Contracting Turf and Landscaping Services.
It appears that since retiring from football at the end of 2019 he has dedicated his time to the business he runs with his father Gary and brother Chad.
There is no word yet on where the former ruckman is going to buy next, or why he is selling. But House That! would put money on him and wife Jen buying another house in Attadale. Sandilands is clearly a fan of the area, with the last three of the four homes he has owned located in the riverside suburb.
Attadale has been one of the big winners in the boom, with 23 per cent annual growth. It is well above the 13 per cent growth in neighbouring Bicton and the 17 per cent rise in Alfred Cove.
Sandlilands was seeking offers from $2.39 million for his home, but as it has not yet settled, the sale price can not be confirmed.
The Sandlilands have raised their three daughters in the area, including Sloane, who was in the press earlier this year over a severe staph infection that left her in a 10-day induced coma.
The former footballer has previously praised her incredible strength and resilience during her recovery. She must be made of the same stuff as her dad, who is a dual Doig Winner and was twice recognised as Fremantle’s best and fairest player.
The property was sold by Matthew Podesta of Mont Property.
