Few, if any, Boston Celtics fans could have predicted how Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals played out on Monday night.
The Celtics, coming home off three straight wins over the Miami Heat, were favored to complete the first 3-0 series comeback in NBA history. Instead, they were run out of their own building.
Boston lost 103-84 to Miami, as everything fell apart for the home team in front of a stunned crowd at TD Garden. No one seemed more devastated than Bill Simmons.
The Ringer boss and diehard Boston fan was downright catatonic when the TNT cameras panned to him during the second half of the beatdown.
“This about sums it up,” Simmons said in response to a screenshot of his blank stare going viral on Twitter.

Another disheartening playoff finish for the Celtics, who have now lost in the Eastern Conference Finals four times in the last nine seasons.
Now comes a pivotal offseason, as Boston must decide on the futures of head coach Joe Mazzulla and standout wing Jaylen Brown, among others.
