When Billie Eilish launched her first perfume in 2021, people wanted in. Just look at fragrance hub, Fragrantica, which is littered with thousands of comments from fans wanting to compare notes. So, obviously, now that Billie’s launching a sequel – aptly named Eilish No.2 by Billie Eilish, and designed to smell like rain – we want all the details.

Luckily we were one of the first to get our hands on the perfume ahead of it’s launch today (22nd March 2023) in the UK.

  • Price: from £32 for 30ml
  • Pros: it’s more affordable than other perfumes, the bottle is a work of art and it’s Billie-approved
  • Cons: the scent leans more masculine and unisex, and it’s not for everyone
  • Our verdict: it’s definitely worth a spritz
  • GLAMOUR star rating: 4/5

Eilish No. 2 by Billie Eilish

Meet the reviewer: Elle Turner, GLAMOUR’s Beauty Editor

Honestly I’m a massive floozy when it comes to perfumes. I like lots of different scent families: citrus, woody, floral, etc, but there’s very few fragrances I’ll actually commit to.

The Packaging

As with her first scent, Billie was inspired by her favourite parts of the body: the chest, neck and collarbone, only this time the metallic grey concrete colour plays into the tougher notes, and nods to the idea of rain falling on pavements on a grey day.

Product Deep Dive

First things first, we want to know how involved our gal was in the development of a scent that’s said to be deeply personal to her, but Lori Singer, president of Parlux (the parent company behind Eilish), confirmed: “As a passionate fragrance enthusiast, Billie was excited to develop her new scent and took time out of her busy schedule to come to the fragrance lab to meet and work directly with the perfumer. Billie knew exactly what she wanted to create.”

This second fragrance is designed to be a slightly sultrier, more sensual move from the singer, but before you think of the typical seductive florals, Bil’s taken us in a different direction with a wet, woody floral. Billie explained: “I really liked the idea of a darker, rainy world for Eilish No. 2. We started with the original ‘Eilish’ elements of warmth and sweetness, but then added spicy and woodsy elements for a more sultry, and wet feeling.”

In practice, this means a bergamot and apple blossom opening, blended with woody papyrus and spicy black pepper that’s been splashed with wild wet poppy flowers. The base has palo santo for earthiness and ebony, enveloped in skin musk.
