ALAMEDA — Biotech companies have signed leases in three different office hubs in a slew of deals that suggest life science firms continue to seek expansion space despite widening uncertainties about commercial real estate.

Two of the office leasing deals landed in Alameda and a third one transpired in South San Francisco, developers and commercial real estate brokers said.

Here are the details of the recent office leases in the Bay Area involving life science firms:

  • IDEAYA Biosciences signed a rental agreement to take 44,000 square feet of office space in 5000 Shoreline Court, a South San Francisco office building owned by DivcoWest, a veteran development firm. CBRE brokers Chris Jacobs and Matt Jacobs and JLL brokers Grant Dettmer and Scott Miller arranged the leasing transaction.
  • Rubi Laboratories leased 16,900 square feet at 1501 Harbor Bay Parkway in Alameda within the Radius @ Harbor Bay campus. Newmark brokers Conor Ranahan, Daniel Pivnick and Ari Rokeach arranged this rental deal.
  • Mekonos rented 10,000 square feet at 1015 Atlantic Avenue in Alameda.

Significant clusters of life science companies exist in Alameda and South San Francisco, along with locations in north San Jose, Palo Alto, Berkeley and West Oakland, and the deals suggest the sector continues to grow in the Bay Area.
