Birkin bangs are the pretty hair trend all the cool-girls are wearing

We love a little beauty and fashion nostalgia and we especially love classic looks that have stood the test of time. That’s why we’re not surprised to see Birkin Bangs re-emerge as one of the prettiest beauty trends sweeping our social feeds for spring.

Jane Birkin was the ultimate OG influencer. The ‘60s style icon was the inspiration behind Hermes’ iconic Birkin bag, but perhaps even more famous, was her signature swishy fringe, which became the hairstyle of her generation.

A Londoner, who lived in Paris, Birkin blended her cool-girl Brit background with the effortless French style of her adopted city. Hence, her chic beauty moments still makes her a muse today.

Her trademark was an easy, breezy, effortless look that was pulled together and polished, but a little worn – like she was too busy having fun and being fabulous to try too hard. Which sounds exactly like our kind of party. As for that fringe (or la frange), it was famous for its flirty eyelash-skimming length and piecey texture, cut softly with no harsh line. They key was to look a little messy, like she’d let it air-dry and raked her fingers through it for some movement on the way out the door.
