Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, who were already parents to three daughters, James, Inez, and Betty, welcomed their fourth child in February this year. Since then, Blake has been keeping a low profile on social media, save for a couple of posts to promote her new line of non-alcoholic mixers (a nice addendum to her husband’s Aviation Gin brand), Betty Buzz.
But over the Easter weekend, the star shared some sweet family photos, including a poolside snap taken in the exact same spot as a previous swimsuit photo Blake shared last summer. Famously a fan of a light-hearted, relatable Insta post over all things glossy and curated, Lively may be back in her bikinis and cut-out one-pieces, but this is far from an example of postpartum snapback culture. Rather, she looked like a happy, makeup-free mom enjoying some downtime with her growing family.
Blake’s post is part of a wider shift away from unrealistic demands placed on mothers in the public eye and towards a more relatable take on the realities of the months postpartum being shared by celebrities, including Ashley Graham, who has been open and candid about everything from leaking breasts to stretch marks since becoming a mother.
