Blake Lively just posted a brunette selfie and she looks so different

Ever since Blake Lively burst onto our screens (and into our hearts) as Bridget in the first Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants movie, we have revered her lush long blonde locks. 

Yet, it seems the 35-year-old actor has decided it’s time for a change after posting a selfie showcasing her new brunette hair on Instagram. 

Blake took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday to showcase her new hue, posting a side-on selfie which shows her wearing a red lip and her brown hair pushed to the side. 

While it’s not clear whether it’s a permanent change or whether she’s wearing a wig, we have to say we love the new look. 

The image and apparent hair change comes just days after it was announced that Blake, who is currently pregnant with her and Ryan Reynold’s fourth child together, will take a starring role in the movie adaptation of It Ends with Us. 

The 2016 novel by Colleen Hoover became a TikTok sensation over the past year, with it being recommended countless times by BookTok influencers, and now Blake will star opposite Jane the Virgin actor Justin Baldoni as the book meets the screen. 

It Ends with Us is a story of a woman who tries to end the cycle of abuse for herself and her child, and it’s just as tear-jerking as it sounds – so we hope the film follows suit. 

Reacting to the cast announcement earlier this week, the author said that Blake was her “dream”  protagonist. “Our Lily is going to be played by Blake Lively. Blake Lively, y’all. She’s my dream Lily,” Colleen said on Instagram. 

She added: “When I first met Justin Baldoni, who is directing the film for It Ends with Us, I immediately wanted him to be Ryle. I just thought that he had what it takes to play that character. The good news is he’s gonna be Ryle. So we have our Ryle and our Lily.”

Colleen added that she believes Blake and Justin “have what it takes to bring these characters to life”.
