Multi-millionaire Danny Wallis, who has become a household name by spending millions on houses from The Block, has made a strange confession about the show.

Speaking to radio show hosts Kyle and Jackio on Monday morning, Mr Wallis admitted he wasn’t a fan of the Channel 9 show, despite buying multiple houses from it over the past three years.

“They’re my saviour because it makes it easier to buy houses,” Mr Wallis told the radio legends.

“But I don’t actually watch the show.”

Mr Wallis made the confession after spending $12.2 million on three houses during this year’s grand final of the show.

He made contestants Omar and Oz the biggest winners in The Block history after buying their Gisbourne property for $5,666,666.66.

The pair was first up at the auction, with the winning bid helping them secure a profit of $1.68m, including their $100,000 in prize money.

He also bought two other properties – Tom and Sarah-Jane’s for $4,100,000.99 and Rachel and Ryan’s for $4,249,999.50.

Mr Wallis was questioned on whether he would continue to buy The Block’s houses in the future, after securing several of them since 2012.

“I’m going to look at them every year and if they’re good, they’re well-built and that [I will],” he said.

“They’re certainly more well-built than a lot of houses you buy, because they get so much scrutiny on them; too many of them can’t afford to build dud houses.”He then went on to reveal a strange feature which comes with buying a house featured on The Block.

“They’re very good quality and any problems that you have with them, Channel 9 is always there to come and fix them up,” he said.

“I’ve got a problem with my water and they’re there straight away.”

Mr Wallis has become a staple on the show for purchasing multiple properties each year, as well as his unusual tactics, including dollars-and-cents bidding and pausing auctions to confer privately with his dog.
