The winners of the 2023 Razzie Awards have been revealed, and they include some of Hollywood’s biggest names in film. The Razzie Awards, also known as the Golden Raspberry Awards, honor the worst in cinema and are often regarded as the polar opposite of the Academy Awards.
Some of the most eagerly awaited and discussed movies of 2022, such as Blonde, Elvis, and Morbius, were among this year’s candidates. Numerous nominations—including those for Worst Picture, Worst Actor, and Worst Director—are for the same categories.
The ceremony was held on Mar. 11, and Blonde, which won the awards for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay, was one of the night’s most significant winners. In addition, Jared Leto, the Morbius movie’s leading man, was named Worst Actor for his performance as Dr. Michael Morbius.
Other noteworthy victors include Good Mourning, which took home the awards for Worst Director for Colson Baker and Mod Sun. Worst Supporting Actor went to Tom Hanks for his portrayal in Elvis, and Disney’s Pinocchio, which won for Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel.
The Razzie Awards might not be the most esteemed honors in Hollywood, but they offer a fun and lighthearted look at arguably some of the biggest cinema failures in the business. For many critics, this year’s award winners and nominees will surely be regarded as some of the worst movies in recent memory for many years to come.
