Debbie Harry’s performance sparked an uproar with Glastonbury viewers after Blondie was hit with sound issues.

The 77-year-old performed on the Pyramid stage on Sunday afternoon, but just minutes into Blondie’s performance, fans claimed they couldn’t hear Debbie’s vocals very well.

Taking to Twitter to air their frustrations, @davidbyatt raged: “SORT YOUR F*****G SOUND LEVELS OUT!!!!! This isn’t a drum solo, it’s Debbie Harry signing!! Apparently. #glastonbury2023.” (sic)

@Rachbythesea quizzed: “Why are they doing Debbie so dirty with the mic volume? #blondie #glastonbury2023.”

@jacquilinlin asked: “Is it just me that can’t hear what Debbie Harry is singing? #glastonbury2023.”

“#blondie pack it in love #glastonbury2023,” @Bunchie1975 added.

While @FullerWater pointed out: “Some sound issues but #Blondie are a real treat. #DebbieHarry is that wonderful mix of totally cool and absolutely bonkers.”

@Millmoo said: “I’m sure Debbie Harry is great, we don’t know because we can’t hear her over the music.. #glastonbury2023.” (sic)

Despite the sound issues, fans were also blown away by how great Debbie looks at the age of 77.

The singer walked onto the stage dressed in an all-black ensemble and silver sunglasses.

She kicked off the set by singing Blondie’s hit, One Way or Another.

She told fans: “It’s good to hear your voice, it has been so long.”

Later on in their set, Debbie changed into a sparkly-sequin outfit to perform Heart of Glass.

Blondie’s performance wasn’t the only one to be hit with technical issues at Glastonbury.

On Saturday night, fans complained about Axl Rose’s vocals when Guns N’ Roses took to the stage.

Some BBC viewers felt Axl wasn’t singing his best, while others claimed to not hear him very well.

Glastonbury Festival is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
