The retro touches at the very least apply to U.K. cars – no word yet on if Canada gets in on the deal – that can be ordered in March 2022.
M cars there will feature the same logo the German marque’s legendary 3.0 CSL wore, since it first appeared in 1973. Originally a shade of violet, a new M logo made an entrance in 1978, and featured slanted stripes beside a large ‘M’, as first introduced on the M1 supercar.
In addition to the storied logo design, M car buyers will also be able to choose from a roster of historically significant colours from BMW’s catalogue. Popular choices include Dakar Yellow, Fire Orange, Daytona Violet, Macao Blue, Imola Red, and Frozen Marina Bay Blue.
