Fresh from the release of its Pre-Spring collection earlier this year, Boda Skins has returned to drop off its new ’88 capsule alongside Peter J Walsh, a pioneering photographer celebrated for his work capturing the rise of acid house during the ‘80s in Manchester
Utilising Walsh’s iconic photography taken at the city’s legendary nightclub events, the Boda team have created a collection rooted in the history of Manchester. Using images captured during the momentous “Second Summer of Love”, a social phenomenon which saw the rise of acid house music and unlicensed rave parties in the UK, the accompanying campaign highlights the label’s offering in a bright acid pink colourway.
Launching with a varied selection of high-quality apparel, from oversized hoodies to clean-fitting T-shirts, the capsule also features the Manchester-based label’s signature leather fabrication in the best-selling Hendrix leather. Notable pieces this season include the ‘88 Leather Bomber—an oversized silhouette crafted from 100% cow leather—and the ‘88 Reversible Nylon Bomber.
The “Ravers” collection of tees and hoodies offers an entry-level option into the collection, coming in relaxed fits that channel a vintage aesthetic with most current streetwear looks. Existing Boda Skins staples have also had a makeover, with the Acid Pink Kay Michaels Leather Leggings along with the unisex rave-lined Hendrix both falling effortlessly into place to round out this striking collection.
