TAGBILARAN CITY–Boholano rising boxer Regie “The Filipino Phenom” Suganob is ready to prove that he deserves a world title shot as he faces off against Sivenathi Nontshinga for the IBF junior flyweight strap on June 16 in East London in South Africa.
“I am really ready for this. I’m 100 percent ready because this is my dream,” said Suganob in Cebuano during a press conference on Wednesday at PMI-Colleges in Tagbilaran City.
His promoter and manager, Floriezyl Echavez Podot, said that Suganob had a rigid training for the past months.
Suganob admitted he was a little bit nervous yet excited for his first international fight.
Suganob hails from Dauis town in Bohol and has a professional record of 13 wins with four knockouts and no losses. Suganob emerged victorious against Mark “Rasta Marc” Vicelles on Feb. 25, 2023 at the “Kumong Bol-anon: IX” IBF junior flyweight title eliminator.
Following his triumph, Suganob stayed in Bohol to continue his rigorous training under the PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions.
“Please pray for me in my fight in South Africa,” Suganob said.
