PALO ALTO – A private Palo Alto high school received a bomb threat Thursday afternoon, prompting an evacuation of the campus and a search that ultimately found no trace of an explosive device, police said.
Just before 3 p.m., a man phoned in the bomb threat to Kehillah Jewish High School at 3900 Fabian Way, according to the Palo Alto Police Department. School officials reported the incident to police and evacuated about 250 students and staff members.
Officers cordoned off the campus and searched it with a bomb-sniffing dog, police said. No bomb was found.
An investigation is underway into the incident and the suspect remains at large. Police said there have been no similar phoned-in bomb threats recently in the city.
