The Prime Minister has been invited to yet another party this Friday, after being ambushed with an invite by a young London school girl.

Boris Johnson was wandering the corridors of a primary in Orpington yesterday, when the little girl appeared with a note for the PM.

‘Oh wow, thank you’, he said, reading the invitation.

‘Dear Mr Johnson…. Oh… Come to our party, love from… that’s so nice of you, thank you.’

The teacher accompanying the PM asks the cheeky youngster: ‘Have you invited sir to a party… to our jubilee party on Friday?… we’ll see you twice in a week, Mr Prime Minister.’

It is unclear if the gathering at St Mary Cray Primary school is planned as a work event or if it is a BYOB gathering.

But the Government will be able to say that the party does not break any Covid rules – if only because there no longer are any.

There will undoubtedly be pictures of Mr Johnson at the event, if he makes an appearance – but they may not appear for 18 months, and perhaps only after the PM insists he knew of no party taking place that day.

The latest scheduled knees up comes after pictures emerged last night showing Mr Johnson raising a glass of alcohol to numerous colleagues in Number 10 at a gathering he told Parliament had never happened.

Various lockdown-busting events occurred in Downing Street and around Whitehall during the Covid crisis, with the PM being ‘ambushed by cake’ at one of them.

Sue Gray’s long-awaited report on partygate is expected to be published tomorrow, but Metro.co.uk understands that the planned shindig on Friday will not be included.
